Peggy Juneau chosen As June Artist of the month by Artists by the Lake

Peggy Juneau is a current resident of Sun City, Arizona She is originally, from Los Angeles. Ms. Juneau specializes in Native American themed mixed-media art and draws on her Native experience as Blackfoot and San Carlos Apache as inspiration. She uses bold colors from nature. That challenge the viewer and helps convey her personal, traditional and contemporary Native ideas. Ms. Juneau includes her own photographs, feathers, and natural bits of nature and accents her work with pastel and acrylic.
Her work has been accepted to many shows at the West Valley Art Council Gallery in Surprise. Currently, you can also view her work at WHAM Gallery on Dysart Road in Surprise. Her work is included in the “Recycle” exhibit until June 27th. She also had work accepted to the “Celebration of Artists 2020” show at the West Valley Art Museum which is located in the Peoria City Hall Gallery,8401 W. Monroe Street, Peoria and can be viewed until June 25th. She won first and second place for her work entered in the All Sun City Art Show in February 2020.
Ms. Juneau states , ”I love to create and re-interpret Native themes within my art, like being a strong Native Woman or portraying a moment at an Apache Sunrise Dance.” Her bold, dynamic spirit is evidenced in her wonderfully creative outlook and her unique art pieces. Her “hub cap “ series also showed off her sense of humor.
Ms. Juneau is a current member and past Vice President of the Artists by The Lake Club and Palo Verde Art Club. She is also a member of WHAM.
